1. What is Skill x Swap?

Skill x Swap is a platform where people can exchange skills.
You share what you know, and learn something new in return. No catch - just community-powered growth.

Example:
Lisa teaches photography basics to Ben. In return, Lisa earns a Skill credit and uses that to learn basic Excel skills with Rebecca. No money changes hands - just shared knowledge.

2. How does it work?

1. Create your free account
    
2. List the skills you can offer – and what you want to learn
    
3. We smart-match you with other users
    
4. You arrange a swap (in-person or online)
    
5. Every time you complete a swap, you earn 1 credit to use for your next one
    

3. What kind of skills can I swap?

Practically anything - from accounting and coding to baking, photography, business basics, budgeting, languages, drawing, fitness… if it can be taught, it can be swapped.

4. Can I message other users?

Yes - as soon as your account is upgraded to Core or Lite Pro, messaging is unlocked and you can connect directly with other users to arrange swaps.

5. Is it free to use?

Yes - you can sign up for free and browse the platform.

Here’s how the tiers work:

• Standard: Browse only
   
• Core (Free, with full profile completion): Access to matching, earn 1 free credit upon upgrade, and send messages
   
• Lite Pro (£4.99/month): Extra features, more swap insights, priority support, and early access to new tools

6. What’s a Skill Credit?

Every time you teach or share a skill, you earn 1 credit.
You use this credit when you want to learn something from someone else.
1 completed swap = 1 credit earned.
It keeps things fair and flexible.

7. Do I have to swap locally?

Nope - Skill x Swap supports both in-person and remote swaps.
You can filter for location preferences, but we love connecting people across borders too.

8. When does the app go live?

We're launching very soon! The core build is in progress, and you'll be the first to know once it's live.

9. What if I don’t find a match straight away?

Don’t worry - you’ll be added to our smart matching system and notified as soon as someone joins with skills that match your needs.
You can also browse manually in the meantime.
